“Purvi is thoroughly knowledgeable in her field of studies and demonstrated her ability to teach very well. She provided real world examples to discuss different topics and had daily jeopardy quizzes to promote reading.”

“Thank you for instructing me and my fellow classmates for the Summer II course. I enjoyed it and thought the interactive methods you introduced did stimulate learning and participation in the class. Now of course, there were some students who just did the minimum, but I thought you were fair and knowledgeable about topics discussed. I appreciate your concern for understanding the many facets of marketing and relating them in creative ways to the class. I wish you success and best wishes with your future endeavors. Take care!”

“Purvi Shah has been one of the best instructors I have ever had. She made the class environment fun and interesting. Her teaching methods were very effective and helpful. She was very knowledgeable and made sure all of our class understood the class content. I appreciate all of her help and would definitely recommend her to anyone interested in learning about Marketing.”

“If I were not one semester away from graduation I would have changed my major to Marketing. I never thought Marketing could be so interesting until I studied it with you.” “Great instructor. Will definitely recommend to friends.”

“I really learned a lot from your market research course. I think the course plan is so great that I can really put my experience from this course in CV and I do get a summer intern because of the project! It’s a great pleasure to take your course!”

“I wanted to reach out to let you know that your class must have had a good impact on me because I was recently offered a position at WPI as a Market Research Analyst in… was wondering if you have any office hours or free time on campus in the next two weeks. Just looking to stop by to get some insight and advice on how to hit the ground running.”

“I wish I had that advice when I was younger. I wasn’t focused on what I wanted to do, skills etc. I just randomly applied for jobs then molded to the job not the other way around. A lot of the things you mentioned in class were right on target. I would like to refer to that and think hard on my direction.”

“I feel so excited about the first A I get in WPI. I gain a lot from this class and I am now very interested in this field. If you are looking for a GA, RA, TA in the next semester, please let me know! I am looking forward to work for you!”

  • As a marketing student of Prof. Shah, I took the MKT 562 (Market Research) course in Spring 2017. “Thank you again for this class, a great learning experience I can take with me to the workforce next year!”

“It was great taking the class with you, and I really enjoyed the case studies and the final presentation. I had a bunch of interviews during the time we were supposed to work on case study 3, hence I wasn’t able to work as hard on that. But other than that the class was really fun. I want to thank you, and additionally ask for any feedback on my presentation skills. I’m trying to work on being a better presenter, and it would be great if I can get some feedback on how I did and how I can improve.”

“I took your class (Achieving Strategy Effectiveness) last D Term, and it was definitely a rewarding experience for me. I really enjoyed your method of teaching, and everything offered in the course. I am pursuing a minor in business at WPI, and I was wondering if you would be willing to be my advisor for this minor. I would really appreciate your help and guidance. Thank you!”

“After our discussion in class, I thought about Clique Pen’s improvement opportunities differently. If each department of the company better understood how their work benefited the company, that is, if each department truly understood their purpose, the different perspectives would still have a multiplying effect. I believe I have a similar opportunity for improvement on a personal scale and was hoping you could help me capitalize on it. Specifically, I was hoping to consider some of these business questions on a personal scale: How can I best position myself in each culture? How do I establish a consistent brand? How do I promote myself effectively and efficiently? What examples should I consider?”

  • Did a good job of broadening my view outside of Engineering.
  • She cares about students and tries to provide opportunities for students to increase their grades. She also takes into consideration of what students are expecting from the course and the profession and applies that.

  • The Prof’s lectures were engaging and easy to follow. The Prof herself was very approachable and knew what she was teaching. I loved all the examples…
  • Enthusiastic and passionate regarding subject matter. Additionally, interactive and always helpful.
  • I liked the structure. Pr. Shah wanted us to have hands on learning as opposed to memorizing the subject for quizzes and tests. I actually learned the majority of content. I would actually encourage a friend to take Pr. Shah’s class. She’s very enthusiastic and has a unique teaching style.
  • Course setup was organized and well prepared, assigned work was meaningful and not traditional/boring. Professor was extremely knowledgeable and well prepared to teach class, brought in excellent real-world applications.
  • Before taking BUS 4030, my comprehension of marketing and its power within business was, at best, minimal. Professor Shah was adamant in teaching me about marketing strategy in a highly organized, favorably discussion-based format. Through in-depth analysis of marketing subjects, and beneficial practice within relatable yet provocative case studies, I was able to achieve a clear understanding of my own potential marketing skills and strategies.
  • As a student in her BUS 4030 course, I was able to gain more knowledge in seven weeks than I ever could’ve imagined. Professor Shah has an amazing understanding of all aspects of marketing and brand management, while also only assigning students coursework that is relevant and impactful.
  • Purvi teaches in many styles (presentation, group projects, etc.), so as a student I was academically challenged, learned how to ask good questions, and also gained tremendous experience in working with a team.

  • Feedback on case studies was actually helpful. Timely grades. No textbook. Engaging and fun.
  • I learned a lot of valuable concepts that I wish I knew before completing my MQP.
  • Professor’s teaching style complements the material. She takes the concepts and doesn’t rely on the PowerPoint to teach us. She incorporates real life examples and uses our knowledge and experiences to help drive the class.
